Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) is still considered the gold standard for the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). The CPAP machine works by providing air pressure through tubing to a mask at a precribed pressure. This CPAP pressure creates an air splint in the upper airway eliminating the snoring and collapse of the upper airway in those that suffer from OSA.
